Desire Desilvia
Nutrition Director
With over 10 years of experience in CrossFit, Desiré’s dedication to
fitness is aligned with a commitment to eating well, with a holistic
approach to life, combining strength training, nutrition, and
continual learning to achieve a balanced and fulfilling lifestyle.
Desiré’s passion for nutrition was ignited during her childhood, as
she watched her mother struggle with chronic illness. Despite numerous
visits to doctors, her mother’s treatment often focused on medication,
with little consideration for the role of her lifestyle and diet. The
death of her mother impacted her, fueling a desire to explore how
nutrition could be a powerful tool in promoting health and preventing
illness. This early exposure to the limitations of conventional
medicine led her towards a path in nutrition, where she aims to bridge
the gap between lifestyle and healthcare. Desiré believes that
understanding the needs of each individual is essential to creating
effective, personalized nutrition plans that support both physical and
mental well-being.
Desiré’s journey in nutrition truly began during the five years she
lived in California in 2012, a place where she developed a strong
commitment to understanding how nutrition impacts overall health and
well-being, leading her to pursue advanced studies in the field. After
she graduated from Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo, California, with
her associate degree in nutrition and dietetics, she moved back to her
home state Rhode Island in 2018, where she continued her education.
She completed her bachelor’s degree in Mental Health Psychology at
Southern New Hampshire University, which provided her with a
foundation for understanding the connection between mental well-being
and dietary choices. Finally completed her education career with her
master’s degree in nutrition education at American University, her
goal is to empower others through education, helping them make
informed choices that enhance their physical and mental health.
